Fun times!

In about 5 days I will be going back to work. It is going to be hard to leave Natalie for a full day. I know I am going to cry some on the first day but the day after I get to stay home with her. Before I had Natalie my supervisor approved that I could work 4- 10 hour days so we didn't have to put Natalie in a daycare. And now we have all family taking care of her while we are at work. :) 

Natalie is getting so big and she is now smiling. Her Uncle Anthony bought her a tie-dyed outfit to match his shirt he got.

The socks are a little big on her, but maybe getting baby shinguards would make them work. ;)

This last week I was given the okay to start doing physical work outs again. So I have start P90 again and been trying to do it everyday. It will be hard with a little one around who needs us. But I am confident that I am going to finish the full 90 day program. :) I was also able to play indoor soccer again! It had been a long time since I have been able to run so I was a little nervous but yet very excited to play. Honestly I did better during the soccer game than I thought I would have. I even have a mark to prove it. The good thing was when I got the mark I had won the battle. hahahaha!

 Isn't it beautiful? This picture was taken 3 days after I got it. According to Jon and others it looks worse than it did before. The day after I got it, it was hard to walk on or even kneel on my knee. Now it doesn't even hurt unless you poke it.

Bath time. . .

Finally after 2 -3 weeks after Natalie was born we were able to give her a real bath instead of a wash cloth bath. Has I had been told by others, some babies like baths others don't. Well Natalie is a baby that doesn't like baths one thing because she gets cold real fast. You can just see it in her face. Cami and Devin were very kind and gave us a baby bath for Natalie. Well her first real bath was really early in the morning and Jon was trying to put it together while I was getting her ready. Well he gave up on putting it together for he had just woke up. So we just had to use a towel to prop her up. lol She was not happy at all. But yet so cute still as she cried. 

I just can't help but laugh at this picture of her right after her bath. :) She was not happy till. . . . . 

I wrapped her up tight in her towel and held her. Oh the joys of being a mother. :)

P.S. I was able to get the baby bath put together after and I love using it!

One month old

On Monday Feb. 8th, Natalie turned one month old. It seems like the time has gone by do fast. She has grown so much and can pretty much hold her head on her own now. I love all the faces she makes and enjoy every minute I can spend with her. It feels like it was just yesterday Natalie came home with us. I will post some pictures soon of her.

Other news. . . .In about four weeks I have to go back to work. It sounds like a long time but at the same time it will come so fast. It is hard to think that I will have to work and leave Natalie for most of the day. Good news. . . .  I am healing very well and can't wait to start playing indoor soccer again. It will be a lot of fun going back. Also trying to find sometime to workout or to even go walking is hard. It comes hard because I don't want to go outside with Natalie when the air quality is bad.  I am trying to figure out what exactly I can do with Natalie for the next few weeks.


About 2 weeks after Natalie was born Jon had knee surgery. (Yeah the medical bills are going to be high this year, but thank goodness for being able to use it on a tax deduction next year.) Jon had been experiencing knee pain since about November. He went and saw a orthopedic doctor to see what can be done. We were told that since it was his knee in which he had his ACL repaired when he was 16 they would have to do surgery to shave his Miniscious (sp?) if the pain doesn't go away in the next few weeks. Even with surgery the pain might come back in the years following. So Jon decided to wait to see if the his knee would just stop hurting and also because Natalie was coming. Well about 2 months passed and the pain stayed the same. So he had a doctor visit on the 18th of January to see if it was a for sure thing that needed to happen. And well he had surgery 3 days later.
I stayed home with Natalie, while Anthony, Mom Dott and Moses took care of Jon the day of surgery. I was still having the baby blues and cried the night before the surgery at the thought of leaving Natalie with someone else. It was out patient surgery, therefore he didn't have to stay over night and the actual surgery only took about an hour. He was able to walk on his leg that same day but had to stay home for 3 days to ice and elevate his knee for recovery. Plus he had to do some exercises about 3 times daily. He did well.
About 2 weeks later he had his follow-up/physical therapy appointment where they told us exactly what the doctor did. Well instead of just shaving his Miniscious they had to remove part of it. He was also diagnosed with Arthritis level 2 (there are 4 levels) in his knee. They said that he is recovering well and just needs to keep doing the exercises and riding a stationary bike 5 times a week to fully recover. But he will be in full working order hopefully in the next month.

Natalie was 1 week overdue so I was scheduled to be induced. I went in on Thursday night to start the cytotac which softens me and can sometimes start contractions on some women. For me it did start my contractions. They started to get big and I got the epidural around 11:30pm. Which helped with the pain a lot. :) Jon and I were almost asleep when 5 people rushed into my room rolled me over, gave me a shot to stop the contractions and to break my water. Natalie's heart rate had dropped for too long during a big contraction. After that they had me off the cytotac and put me on the lowest does of pitocin which brought the big contractions back and again Natalie's heart rate dropped during a big one and they had to stop the contractions yet again. Throughtout Friday they tried the pitocin and had to stop the contractions 3 times because Natalie's heart rate would drop during the contractions needed to give birth. Around 7pm Friday, the new nurse who had just started her shift came to introduce herself and to start yet again the pitocin. 

Once she started the pitocin and a big contraction came Natalie's heart rate went down again and they stopped the labor. At that point my OB had been off her shift and the covering doctor was watching me. So Dr. Brown (covering doctor) had the nurse take my vitals to make sure I was okay. And unfortuanely I had a fever. Which pointed to infection on the fluid and that Natalie could have the infection also. Dr. Brown didn't waste anytime and rushed me in for an emergency c-section right before 8pm. I was under the knife and nervous as no other but 8pm. They had Natalie out at 8:14pm. Jon was with me in the OR and at first I didn't hear Natalie cry until Jon asked me if I heard her. She cried a 2nd time and I heard her. They cleaned her up and made sure that she was all okay, wrapped her up and handed her to Jon. He was crying and the said "hi Natalie" Then he put her by my face so I got to see her. Then he said "I'm holding a baby". lol :) During the rest of the surgery I could not stand being in there I just wanted to get out. I asked like 10 times when they were going to be done. Plus I was shaking like no other. They got me out by 8:45pm and was back in the labor and delivery room I had been in 20 hours prior to surgery. I was shaking so bad and the only way I was able to stop shaking was to sleep. My parents came in and saw little Natalie before I was transferred to recovery. 

Natalie and I after we were transferred up to recovery. I am a little tired and still shaking. The shaking lasted til the next morning. I had an iv in my arm for a total of 4 days for I had to have antibiotics for the infection. I had to have help to get in and out of bed for 3 days. And I was in the hospital for a total of about 5 days due to having a c-section. Jon was a sweetheart and stayed with me and slept on the uncomfortable couch every night.

Natalie was extremely healthy and strong. She has a full head of hair and already kicks those legs like she is a soccer player. :) She loves to snort when she cries and according to Jon is quiet when she cries. 

 

Jon and I both love her to pieces and are extremely excited she is here. She was born on Friday, January 8th, 2010 @ 8:14pm and weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. 

 

Getting close. . . .

This was when I was 36 weeks along. Right now I am 38 weeks. Some of my co-workers have told me that I look like I have dropped. Well it sure does feel like I have dropped. My family have taken a poll of when I will have Natalie. My dear niece said that she thought that I would have her on January 25th, which by the way is my niece's birthday. But mostly everyone says that I will have her in January and not in December, other than my mom. :) We believe we have everything for her but we will see once she is here. Jon is excited and keeps asking her to come out and play. My feet are a little swollen and it's a tight fit when I wear my work shoes. Though I am not swollen bad enough that I can't wear the shoes. I now have the "runway walk". Jon likes to make fun of me when I strout my runway walk.  It's is hard to not waddle when I walk. And it is hard to get out of the chair or to even turn over in bed. But I am enjoying the holidays even though I am in the end of the journey. 

We got our cirb. Jon was sweet and set it up the night that we got it. It didn't take him that long.

Even Anthony and Moses stopped playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 to help set up the crib. Then we just had get the mattress.

The boys did great. And it all came together great. It will be nice to use it in the next couples of months. :)









Thanksgiving this year was at my parent's house. And then Jon's mom had her thanksgiving the weekend of Thanksgiving. Unfortunately we weren't able to make it to Moab this year for the Christmas tree hunt but Mom and Mark were really nice to still find us a perfect tree for our first Christmas in our home. It was the perfect height and width.

As you can see we weren't able to get many oranments on the tree. Mom gave us some ornaments but they were to heavy for the trees branches. :(  And this year I found a stocking for Natalie that matches mine and Jon's. I was wrapping presents and had shown Jon that I got some binkies for Natalie that say "I love Daddy" and "Daddy's Princess" on them. He had me wrap them and put them in her stocking. And Jon found a Santa hat that she could wear if she comes before or on Christmas. I am almost done getting all the gifts together. Just have a couple more to wrap and just need to make the cookies. :) 

Next week is going to be a busy week and I think that we are ready for it. :) I hope that everyone has a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Time is flying. . .

This is me at 30 weeks and 4 days. Right now as I am writing the blog I am 32 weeks and 2 days. I would have posted earlier but we have been really busy putting our house together. Yes that is right, Jon and I did purchase a house. :) It was hard but we got there. We painted, added chair rail and fix little hardware things before we actually moved in. Thank you to everyone who helped us get into our place. Now we just have to finish unpacking and de-junking and getting our new windows installed (thank you Devin for the windows). Oh and Christmas decorations, not too many but I would like to have a real Christmas tree to put presents under.

Just a little under 2 months and our little Natalie will be here. We still have a lot to get for her but we wanted to wait for that till we got into the house. Now it is on to getting completely ready for her arrival. :) It is going to a busy holiday season but it will make the last trimester go by fast for me. Has I have heard from others who have been pregnant that the last semester goes by slow. Thank goodness for the holidays, family and friends to keep me busy and on my toes to make time fly.

Well hopefully with everything that is planned for the holidays I will be able to still blog a little about the events. If I don't have time, Happy Holidays to everyone. :)
